About Charla Chenoweth Swift

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me, as I believe it is imperative we work well together. It has been said the client-counselor relationship is the most important part of the work.

Charla Chenoweth Swift

I work for Las Animas County Department of Human Services on Main Street, Trinidad, Colorado, where I have resumed Clinical Therapy Services.

I earned my Master of Social Work Degree from the University of Denver in 1997. I am Licensed in the State of Colorado as Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I have successfully worked with traumatized children of abuse and neglect, youth-in-conflict, as well as adults of all ages. I am a trauma specialist, trained in EMDR (Maiberger Institute at Boulder, CO. I also employ more traditional therapeutic interventions. I continue scores of Mental/Behavioral Health training annually and have over fifteen (15) years’ experience as a Clinical Therapist. My clients have shared testimonials of success unmatched in their previous counseling experiences.

I came from a rural background, growing up on a farm/ranch. From there I have been all over the world. I am as at home in a small village in Africa, as I am in one of the largest cities in the world. One thing I have learned from my extensive travel is this; we are all the same when it comes right down to it. We all have our own hopes and dreams; yet at times they seem so out of reach. If you are struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma history, excessive irritability, mood swings, trust issues, self-sabotaging behaviors, and/or panic, among other problems, please call me.

Life is full of aches and pains; yet we all have a choice. We can either accept this as our lot in life, or we can rail against it, and look for a better way. This is my invitation to you. Together, let us find that better path.  My goal is to help you reduce and manage the difficult, while learning to create and embrace the positive.
