Clerk & Recorder

Born and raised in Trinidad, I have a deep connection to the community and a strong commitment to public service in Las Animas County. As a small business owner, I bring real-world experience, accountability, and a customer-service mindset to my role in county government. 

As Clerk and Recorder, I prioritize strong leadership and professional development within the Clerk’s Office by conducting annual and semi-annual training for employees. These trainings ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency across all five departments overseen by the Clerk’s Office. My focus remains on delivering reliable services and providing exceptional customer service to the citizens of Las Animas County, while continuing to invest in systems and people that serve the community with integrity.

In addition, I serve on the nonprofit committee responsible for awarding funding to local nonprofit organizations, helping ensure resources are directed toward programs that strengthen our community and support those in need. I have written and secured numerous grants to upgrade the county’s recording system, which now includes enhanced fraud control measures to protect public records. I have also taken steps to improve the security and integrity of elections through the implementation of enhanced entry card systems and video surveillance, reinforcing transparency and public trust in the electoral process.

Deeply connected to this community, I am committed to serving with professionalism, dedication, and respect while remaining humble and approachable to the people of Las Animas County. 

Giving back to the place that gave me roots to grow and wings to fly, is both a privilege and a responsibility I hold with great pride.
